A stripe may be
- one of a pattern of areas created by a family of parallel lines, as on the flag of the United States, also known as the stars and stripes
- in a candy-stripe pattern, on a diagonal and twisted round a cylinder, as for a candy cane
- racing stripe, distinctive stripes first applied to high-performance prototype automobiles built as racecars by Briggs Cunningham—as two parallel blue stripes running from front to rear of the white body of all his Cunningham racecars—so that spectators could identify his team's automobiles readily during sports car races; a tradition soon adopted by other racing teams in many venues, and often imitated by manufacturers of street vehicles who wish to imply that their products, similarly, are high performance sportscars or just appear "sporty" (derisively called go-fast stripes in this imitative application)
- a single painted or printed stripe, as a thin strip of material, as for example the magnetic stripe on a magnetic stripe card
- a service stripe awarded in the United States armed forces
- a synonym for chevron as a mark of military rank, as in three-striper
- an animal marking, such as the zebra's, not assumed to be completely regular
- a linear wound or bruise caused by a whipping implement; imprecisely the plural is said of all the lashes when meant to mark the skin
- a British surname
